You ever wonder what happened to people you knew a while back and haven't seen in forever and two days? Lol. You know, like a friend you once had, someone you used to kick it with. Or family you haven't heard from for years? How about an acquaintance? Good or bad. You ever just wonder? I once and again find myself in the, " Oh maan, I wonder whatever happened to *such and such*." mode. Don't lie, you know you have too. And it's not uncommon I'm sure. Life is funny I've noticed. It has been designed so complicated and busy. Yet it has the nerve to make you stop and think, "Heeey, I wonder how *such and such* are doing?" *Shaking head* Majority of the time I suppose *such and such* must be doing the damn thing following their dream career, raising a family, traveling and whatnot. I don't know. But what happens when you find out how they are really doing? What happens when you find out they aren't doing good. I mean not at all! Yesterday I had the pleasure of catching up with an old friend of mine whom I haven't conversed with in years. I was so proud to know she's doing well as I always expected. So my curiosity kicked in.  I asked her if she has heard from any of  mutual friends and acquaintances.  I knew she was better at keeping up with our friends than I.  

Klassy: What about Camron? How is he doing? Remember he used to always say stuff we never understood? LOL.

Friend: Oh wow, I thought you knew. He got killed three years ago. Shot in the head on a basketball court in DC. *sigh*

Klassy: WTH! No. No. No. Why?!  *sigh*

Friend: I know.

Klassy: What's up with Patrick? How's he doing? Did he join the military like he said he would?

Friend:*sigh* Nope. He couldn't get in because he has a criminal record. He was in and out of jouvie. He is sellin and saying ain't no other way in his case and that living in b-more ain't no joke.

Klassy:Stop!! Don't tell me no more. He was never the type to get his azz into trouble! Damn.

Klassy: What about Devin? How's he?

Friend: Gurl, He's going to jail. It was on the news. He stayed in as he said he would but something went down about him stealing weapons from the base he worked on. I'm watching it now.

Klassy: I'm done.  I'm to scared to ask about anyone else.

The conversation didn't get any better. People I used to know  are going through times of relentless tribulations. I mean the good people! The type of people with personalities that make you say," Yup, you gonna make it buddy. Someday when we grow up I'm going to hear from you or about you and how successful and happy you are." I feel dispirited. It's like their lives has changed so much than what I expected that it scares me. I mean am I wrong for thinking everyone was doing okay?

*Shaking Head* I don't even know what to begin to say. As a young person, I can honestly say that I now see and feel the pain of how our parents hurt for us when we as young adults make the wrong decisions when we know better. Especially when we are raised with so much potential. WE KNOW BETTER!! Beginning today I will include my friends/acquaintances  in my prayers. I will pray He gives them wisdom, strength, knowledge, and protection to make it through this thing called life that He created. *sigh*
